Housing
Erie's North Shore Support Services has a number of houses and apartments in Haldimand and Norfolk counties.
The agency owns some units, and leases some from private landlords. All of our units are designated “affordable” which means that the monthly rent that each person pays does not exceed 30% of their guaranteed monthly income. Most of our units also include utilities costs built into the monthly rental fee.
There is a waiting list for our housing.
To apply, which we always suggest people do as soon as they can, complete a housing application and submit it to our office. Be sure to include a copy of your birth certificate, tax return from the last year, and monthly income statement. (We will make a copy here at our office for our files at no cost to you)
Erie's North Shore also has support available to anyone in our housing. If you move into one of our units and then decide after living there that you need support (case management) then let us know and you will move to the top of the list for support from a case manager. An application and assessment is required to be completed before receiving support.
To be accepted into our housing, you must meet the criteria as established by the Ministry of Health of having a mental health issue. Written verification from a physician about your mental health condition is required. |
